PRE-WIRE FOR YOUR PLAYER PIANO??? YES!!!

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Do you have a player piano?  I love the wonderful sound of an actual Piano playing through out the home.  What a peace comes over me when I hear Bach or Motzart floating from an actual instrument.  There is nothing like it.  Wouldn’t it be great if you could hear that tune through out the home?  You can!!!  BUT – it requires planning!  Plan where you want your piano and pre-wire your home.  Heck!  Pre-wire for a player piano anyway!!!  It increases the value of your beautiful home!

CHINESE DRYWALL

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

What is Chinese Drywall?  It is sub quality drywall builders purchased from China during the housing boom.

Is all Chinese Drywall bad?  Not necessarily.  But the bad stuff is very bad.

What’s the problems with it?  Sulfer deposits are found in certain drywall.  It will erode your copper piping, wiring and A/C unit coils.  They deteriorate and become blackened.  Eventually it eats away at the copper and all drywall, wiring, pipes, etc need to be replaced.

Why is this a issue?  If you have a new home and your appliances, TV, projector, etc start acting a little funky – you might want to check your drywall.

How do you check your newer home for this?   First check your copper plumbing.  If it’s black, you might want to call for a home inspection.  You can also check the A/C unit.  Another way is to go into your attic and check for writings on the drywall.  If it’s written in Chinese – it may be bad, but it might not.  An official test of the drywall may be necessary – but, this test is very costly.
